By Angel Faith Danganan — Fresh off his election win as Board Member for the 2nd District of Tarlac, actor-turned-public servant Arron Villaflor is taking active steps to learn from some of the country's most respected leaders in local governance. His first move? A formal request to meet with Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, a figure he openly admires.
Villaflor describes Mayor Sotto as a "role model" and "source of inspiration," particularly for his brand of transparent, youth-focused, and participatory governance—principles that Villaflor is eager to emulate in his own province.
"As someone who is just beginning this public service journey, I want to learn from those who have already proven that good governance is possible," Villaflor said. "Mayor Vico's leadership style resonates deeply with me."
According to Villaflor, his communications team is already in touch with Mayor Sotto's office to coordinate a potential courtesy call. "If this pushes through, it would be a huge honor to personally hear Mayor Vico's insights and seek his advice as I navigate my own path in governance," he shared.
Villaflor also mentioned plans to bring his communications team to document the visit. "This isn’t just about a meeting; it's about showing young leaders and aspiring public servants that mentorship and integrity matter."
With over a decade in the entertainment industry, Villaflor has now redirected his platform toward community service, pledging to promote transparency, youth empowerment, and responsive governance throughout Tarlac's 2nd District.
