In a recent social media post, Tarlac Governor Susan Yap reassured the public that the province is free from the highly pathogenic avian influenza.
The announcement followed tests conducted by the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI), which confirmed that all poultry samples from Tarlac tested negative for the virus.
"All samples from Tarlac tested negative for the [bird flu] virus," stated DA Assistant Secretary for Swine and Poultry Dante Palabrica. He added, "Based on these results, news about the bird flu are untrue."
This confirmation dispels fears of a bird flu outbreak among consumers and industry players, affirming the safety of Tarlac's poultry products.
