The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has earmarked a P5-million grant for the enhancement of farm-to-market roads (FMRs) in Dingalan, Aurora, paving the way for improved rural connectivity and economic growth. This financial boost, part of the 2023 Local Government Support Fund-Financial Assistance to LGU (LGSF-FALGU), targets Sitios Yakal II, Narra, and Mulawin in Barangay Paltic, located 127 kilometers from Baler, the province's capital.
DILG Aurora's Local Government Operations Officer, Reyner Buenconcejo, highlighted that the LGSF-FALGU initiative is designed to support local government units in delivering essential services to their communities. By improving the infrastructure, the project aims to lower transportation costs for farmers, facilitating faster and more efficient market access. Additionally, the upgraded roads are expected to provide residents with enhanced access to community centers, schools, and medical facilities, thereby improving overall quality of life.
From 2021 to 2023, a total of 28 projects have been successfully funded and implemented across Aurora through the LGSF-FALGU, demonstrating a significant investment in the province's rural development and connectivity.
Question: How do you think improved farm-to-market roads will impact the daily lives of farmers and residents in rural areas like Dingalan?
