In a vibrant showcase of culture, heritage, and unity, the provincial government of Aurora proudly kicked off its first-ever Pasidayaw Festival at the Capitol Grounds in Barangay Suklayin. Ana Riza Mendoza, the Provincial Tourism Chief, described the weeklong festivity as a tapestry of the region's cultural wealth, faith, and the communal sharing of abundant harvests, symbolizing a fresh start or "bukang liwayway."
The festival's inauguration was a highlight of the 45th Aurora Day, themed "Aurora, sa Muling Pagsibol ng Liwanag," reflecting the province's resilient spirit. "Pasidayaw" merges local lexicons "Pasida," meaning to share one's bounty, and "Dayaw," signifying prideful celebration, encapsulating the essence of Aurora's communal and celebratory traditions.
Graced by notable figures including Department of Tourism-Central Luzon's Regional Director Richard Daeños, acting Governor Reynante Tolentino, and other esteemed local officials, the event underscored Aurora's commitment to cultural preservation and tourism growth. Daeños expressed his gratitude for the province's warm hospitality and optimism for Aurora's rising appeal as a tourist haven.
Amidst the festivities, Tolentino commended the collaborative efforts of tourism offices in promoting Aurora through the Tourism Fair 2024 and Siempre Aurora: Trade Fair, promising unwavering support to accommodate the anticipated influx of visitors.
