Central Luzon Balita's Angel Faith Danganan earned the Kaugnay Excellence Award at the 7ID Philippine Army Media Engagement and Fellowship 2026.

FORT RAMON MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija — Veteran broadcast journalist Angel Faith Danganan, head of Central Luzon Balita, was honored with the Kaugnay Excellence Award during the Media Engagement and Fellowship 2026, organized by the 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division, Philippine Army on June 27, 2026, at Bulwagang Tinyente Bandong, Fort Ramon Magsaysay in Palayan City, Nueva Ecija.

The annual gathering brought together selected media practitioners, digital content creators, military communicators, and public information officers from across Central Luzon to strengthen cooperation in promoting responsible journalism and the dissemination of truthful, timely, and verified information.

The event was spearheaded under the leadership of Major General Joseph Norwind Rasamonte, Commander of the 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division, Philippine Army, together with Lt. Col. Rogelio A. Dumbrigue Jr. (OS) PA, Chief of the Division Public Affairs Office (DPAO).

Fort Ramon Magsaysay, recognized as one of the largest military reservations and training camps in Asia, served as the venue for the fellowship, highlighting the Philippine Army's continuing efforts to foster stronger partnerships with the media sector.

Among the distinguished participants were selected media personalities and digital influencers from Central Luzon. Standing out among the awardees was Angel Faith Danganan, a broadcast journalist with many years of professional experience and the driving force behind Central Luzon Balita, recognized as one of the pioneering digital news organizations in Region III.

Receiving the Kaugnay Excellence Award, Danganan expressed her gratitude and reflected on the evolving role of journalism.

"Journalism in today's digital age is more challenging than ever. With countless online platforms and the rapid rise of artificial intelligence, our responsibility as journalists has become even greater. Technology can help us work faster, but it should never replace our commitment to truth, fairness, accuracy, and responsible reporting. At the end of the day, credibility remains our most valuable asset, and public trust is something we must continue to earn every single day."

The Media Engagement and Fellowship 2026 underscores the Philippine Army's commitment to building stronger relationships with the media while encouraging open communication, transparency, and the responsible sharing of information that benefits both the public and the nation.

The organizers emphasized that collaboration between the military and legitimate media organizations plays a vital role in ensuring that communities receive accurate, verified, and balanced information, particularly during times of public concern and national significance.
