ANGELES CITY — At a time when fuel prices continue to rise and every peso matters, one act of kindness is making a real difference on the streets.
Entrepreneur and philanthropist Rhea Tan has turned something personal into something powerful—selling her own belongings to provide free full tank gas for delivery riders and tricycle drivers who struggle daily just to earn a living.
Through her initiative “Byahe Kalinga,” Tan, together with Beautéderm ContriBeaut Foundation and the Rotary Club of Balibago, will give fuel assistance to 100 hardworking road heroes.
“Thank you to everyone who joined my bidding. Sold out! Now, it’s time to give back,” Tan shared.
For many riders and drivers, the rising cost of fuel is not just an inconvenience—it is a daily burden. Every trip means spending more, while earnings stay the same or even decrease. Many go home tired, with just enough to survive.
Tan says she sees this struggle every day.
“We see them on the road, tired but still smiling. But they need real support,” she said.
This is why she chose to act—not wait.
“I may not solve everything, but I can help in my own way. Helping others, especially those who have less, is what we need right now,” she added.
This is not the first time Tan has given back. During the pandemic, she also sold luxury items like bags and clothes to support frontliners and families in need. For her, success has always meant lifting others up.
“My success should not define me. What matters is how we open doors for others,” she said.
